I have completed a threat and survived. I did a quick check in the forum and I read that you have to restore everything. Is this correct? I understand if you had died then yes you would start all over again. If you are successful do you loose all your buildings, production. defence, knowledge and influence points too? Does the destiny chart have to start from the beginning again? What about side quests that have been started do you have to restart them over again too? Any feedback would be welcome.

Yes, after you complete a Threat, you completely reset the game. Nothing in the game carries over to the next Threat playthrough. You start playing the next Threat as if you just opened the box for the first time. Start with the into scenario 'A new beginning' and take a new blank Citadel leaflet.

The only difference is that during the 2nd Threat, you have your own real-life memory and notes of the in-game world and events, which might be very useful.

1 Threat = 1 game

Thanks for getting back to me much appreciated. An issue I have with this is why bother with the side quests? In my recent run through of the first threat I had a least 6 side quests open. None were completed and I wonder what I would have had to do differently to complete them fully. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? If you have to start them from scratch every time you start a new threat they are unlikely to be completed unless there are mechanisms in the later threats to allow you to complete them. At the moment I could only imagine completing a side quest if they carried on through the threats if you had completed the threat successfully. Again any feedback most welcome.

Side quests are sometimes hard to finish, because they are obviously not part of the main quests which are often tricky to finish themselves. But there are moments during a Threat where you will find yourself with some 'extra time' to spend, so you can focus on the side quests if you want. In my experience, at the end of a Threat, I have finished several side quests, but also have left some unfinished. This is just part of the game design: you can't do everything during a single playthrough, resources are limited. Take notes about your side quests while playing, so that during your next playthrough you know what to do and where to go.
